Clone fighter ships star wars1/1/2024 Its slow speed and poor maneuverability made it a lackluster dogfighter, but its ability to take a beating and carry heavy weapons payloads saw it find good use as an attack aircraft against large star ships and ground targets. The earliest versions of it were first used by the Republic during the Clone Wars, but it later found extensive service with the Rebel Alliance. The Y-Wing is perhaps the longest serving fighter/bomber aircraft of the Rebel Alliance. Star Wars Match: Y-Wing Starfighter Courtesy Lucas Film LTD Designed originally as a fighter, it too found great usage as an attack aircraft best suited to destruction of large targets. The Y-Wing starfighter closely resembles the the P-47 in its role among the Rebel Alliance’s air fleets. 50 caliber machine guns on each wing, coupled with rockets and up to 2,500 pounds of bombs wreaked havoc on German ground forces and supply lines. Might add more to this later.P-47s were the heaviest and largest fighter/bomber airplanes of their time, weighing up to 8 tons when fully armed. The Republic gunship would pretty much have the same abilities as the droid gunship.Īgain piloted perhaps by a clone pilot, I really can't think of anything special for this one to do. Piloted by a clone pilot, clone sergeant, or perhaps Commander Cody. The droid gunship would be capable of taunting, and unleashing mid-low damage AOE attacks against the enemy team, capable of inflicting debuffs on republic targets. Think of it as a weird cross between a tank and an attacker. Or it could be used kinda like the Hyena Bomber, to do things subversive to the enemy capital ship. It could be used in a similar fashion as Biggs' X-Wing, taunting and able to call assists. The droid gunship could be used in 2 ways as I see it. Piloted by B2, no other droid pilot character needed. This ship would pretty much just be the Seperatist Frigate with a different model. Therefore I say Dooku, Gunray, or perhaps a "Tactical Droid" type character would fit as a commander for this ship. While yes in canon and in the TV show the Malevolence was Grevious' ship, we all know how hard Grevious is to attain. WAIT! No Clone Wars cartoon fans, it wouldn't be Grevious' capital ship. Aside from that last special regardless I think a Seperatist capital ship is needed. The vulture droids abilities would be limited to basic physical damage, taunting, and calling other vulture droids to assist - meaning you can't call regular ships to assist. The vulture droids would be used as really bad meat shields, that can taunt. One of the restrictions should be that as long as you down all the original ship 'squad' members you win. Now I know this could seem like it has issues. I know it's kinda crazy but the Trade Federation had money, and endless amounts of these things to throw at you. Very low health, low damage, but a vulture droid nonetheless. Upon using this special ability, for every 1 ship that you've lost, a generic vulture droid appears. Starts on cooldown, cooldown of maybe 7 or 8 or whatever. My "edgy" idea for Gunray could be like a free re enforcement. Another special idea could be perhaps a not resistable AOE type attack that inflicts light physical damage to all targets, but has a 60-70% chance for damage over time x2. I think a special attack similar to Mace Windu's "Fortune Favors the Bold" where Valor is granted to all allies would be cool. Basic attack could be like the Mon Cal cannons. Yes my children, the coming of Nute Gunray. Perhaps it could have near identical stats as the ARC Fighter, just with a Seperatist synergy or a slight chance to assist like the Geonosian Soldier. Alternatively I think that this could be used as a Seperatist version of the Clone Sergeant's ARC Fighter. Basic attack deals physical damage, maybe a low chance to ability block for 1-2 turns. I think it'd be cool to have a ship like that because well it's a bomber, it only makes sense it'd be doing things subversive to the enemy's capital ship.Īgain piloted by B2 or a droid pilot. Special attack could be a really low damage AOE, but could remove maybe 10% capital ship turn meter. Basic attack does physical damage, maybe 10% chance to inflict defense down for a turn. Piloted by B2, or perhaps a droid pilot could be added for this and all the other droid ships. Basic attack just does physical damage, special could call an ally to assist, or grant turn meter to allies. This was originally going to be a reply to that but it got so long where I felt I should just make another thread about it and go more in depth. Credit to this thread for giving me this idea.
